Tower Records is back as an online store
14 years after it filed for bankruptcy, Tower Records is back, and as this era deems, in a digital form.
In its reincarnated form, iconic music retailer focuses mainly on selling vinyl and cassette in various genres. Not only that, but the famous Pulse! magazine is also making a comeback.
The revive of its online presence serves some sort of poetic justice for the brand, as it was one of the first retailers to launch a website, way back in the mid 90s.
Founded in 1960, Tower Records has grown from its first store in Sacramento, California, to nearly 200 stores in 15 countries. The company managed to generate $1 billion in annual sales at its peak, before music piracy and heavy debt due to rapid expansion, brought it to an end.
